                                                                 IS PLIES A NURSE

On the heels of Rick Ross being exposed for lying about his past, Hip hop dx has uncovered records that shows that Plies has lied about his criminal past in his records as well. Plies is a graduate of University of South Florida and hasn't had a run in with the law until after his records were released. These two haven't been the only rappers who have been accused of fraud as Jay-z's boys have painted him a fraud as well stating that he rapped about their lives instead of his own.

Its makes me feel better to know that most of the mcees in the game are studio gangstas because i live in the hood but i aint a product of the hood. I dont hustle and merk mutfizzles off the planet. It seems like now a days being gangsta is the only way to sell. I believe in doing most things legit...well most things anyway

                       plies the nurse

I just heard that Plies graduated with a degree in nursing. The question is can he still be gangsta? I heard on the radio that Plies graduated from a four year college in Miami with a degree in nursing. The DJ's were laughing and basically said that they don't see him as gangsta any more. Lil Wayne graduated with a degree in English or something. Why do people look differently and/or discredit rappers, etc. just because they attained higher learning?

*Just stating what I heard people!*

Signed to Slip-N-Slide in 2004 after recording his first track, "Tell Dem Krackers Dat," the Ft. Myers, FL-based Plies built anticipation for his official debut album with a couple mixtape releases, along with an appearance on Trina's "So Fresh." He found some trouble when, during a performance at a Gainesville nightclub on July 2, 2006, an argument about set length escalated into gunfire. Two members of his entourage were convicted of attempted murder, while Plies and a third associate were charged with illegal possession of concealed weapons. Originally a featured MC on Akon's "I Wanna Love You," Plies was replaced by Snoop Dogg, quite possibly due to the altercation. His debut album, The Real Testament, which featured the single "Shawty," was set to be released in August 2007. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

. Now more evidence has been collected against the Miami rapper. The folks over at thesmokinggun have found an official document which showed Rick Ross was indeed a CO, having the exactly identical social security number as the William Roberts who previously worked there from 1995 til 1997. It also shows he earned over $25,000 when he finally left in 1997.

Hmmmm, Trobule brewing in Miami?!?  Ross seems pretty upset @ Trick’s statements.  Either he’s pissed at his credibility being pissed on with these cop photos or he’s pissed at niggaz for starting some bullshit rumors.  Either way, dat nigga is pissed.  If Ross is right, why is Trick so mad at Ross for bein’ hot?  If Trick is right, then niggaz should just stop with this lying rapper bullshit.  Ross might have been a big time dope dealer.  But, somethin’ smells fishy about his credibility about this nigga.  So what, this nigga played college football for Delaware State.  But, the real Rick Ross asked him to stop using his name.  Then, he so makes up alot of shit.  Either way he’s nice.  I like Ross.  But, ehhhhh something smells fishy.  Time will tell

                                                                     HIP HOP RUMORS

                                                                      RIP TO  MC BREED

Yesterday, HipHopDX reported that MC Breed had died after a bout with kidney failure [click to read]. Late last night, DX reached out to several Michigan Hip Hop spokesmen to understand the significance and loss of Flint's rap pioneer.

"Yo, that was my fuckin' nigga. [It's a] sad day for Hip Hop," said Obie Trice, citing Breed's track "Gotta Get Mine" with 2Pac as a favorite. "And rest in peace to one important nigga in music - and Detroit, Flint music, period."

Boss, famed for being the Detroit native who would go on to be the flagship artist of Russell Simmons' Def Jam West label, spoke about her longtime friend and peer. "Breed was not only a pioneer of Detroit Hip Hop, but of Hip Hop as a whole. Having suffered with kidney failure myself, it is important that we as entertainers, take care of our health and promote organ donation and our communities. Breed will be greatly missed."

Hex Murda, famed Detroit Hip Hop personality and manager of Elzhi, Black Milk and Guilty Simpson, consultant for Trick Trick and executive producer of Tronic [click to read], stated, "Breed may be gone, but the beauty of having a classic record is that shit lives forever. So whenever niggas hear 'Ain't No Future In Yo' Frontin'," you realize it's timeless - and so is the boy Breed. Rest well my, nigga."

"Breed was one of the only cats I knew that reached icon status, but never had a deal with a major label," pointed out Fattfather of Fat Killahz, a group that worked with and toured nationally with D12 and Slum Village. It was revealed yesterday that even at the end of his career, 36 year-old Breed was reportedly in motion to re-sign with Ichiban Records, where his career began 17 years ago.

Local hero Merciless "Mersy" Amir, added, "MC Breed will go down in history as one of Hip Hop's greatest songwriters, respected and recognized by his fans and fellow artists alike as a genius."

Describing Breed, Blackface from the group Rock Bottom accounted, "A real nigga forever. We had just sent him money for a verse he was supposed to do next week, so I say that to say, that we fucked with dude till the day he died!" Rock Bottom has worked extensively with a number of Detroit artists, including D12.

Marquise Porter, an artist once signed to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez' Wish Records, was on the verge of doing a single deal with the late Flint, Michigan icon. He stated, "Breed was the best underrated artist, period, and we love that nigga. He was a sheer genius."

Guilty Simpson [click to read] said, "Breed was a pioneer for us. He put music from our region on the map way back. It's a sad day for not only Flint, but Detroit and Hip Hop as a whole. R.I.P. He'll be missed."

Throughout his 17 year career, Breed worked with artists from Atlanta, the Bay area, Los Angeles and elsewhere.

HipHopDX sends our condolences to the Breed family, friends and the Michigan Hip Hop community.

Lil Wayne Cancels 2nd Rochester Show  posted Tuesday, November 25, 2008 10:00 AM | 5 Comments function Hip-Hop's 2008 MVP Lil Wayne has again disappointed fans by canceling his second consecutive show in Rochester, NY.

The heavily advertised concert was scheduled for December 6, and this time would have featured fellow superstar T.I as a co-headliner.

On October 26, Wayne allegedly walked out on promoters and fans due to his displeasure with the venue’s sound system.

After bad press from the incident and other no-shows around the country, the New Orleans emcee negotiated a new date with the concert organizers for December 6.

This time the postponement centers on T.I., who apparently double-booked himself to also appear on Saturday Night Live the night of the concert.

Wayne balked at doing the show solo, and now the concert will commence on December 13 with just T.I..

Wayne fans that purchased tickets for the December 6 show have until December 3 to obtain a refund.

Unfortunately, those that purchased tickets for the October 26 show will not be able to exchange their tickets for T.I.’s show.

Instead, these ticketholders will be forced to wait for a third Lil Wayne date to be announced.

At press time, Wayne is expected to again reschedule a concert appearance for the Rochester area.

                                                                       DR DRE  HISTORY

Dr. Dre was responsible for moving rap music away from the avant-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions as well as the party vibes of old-school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-funk. BDP's early albums were hardcore but cautionary tales of the criminal mind, but Dre's records with N.W.A. celebrated the hedonistic, amoralistic side of gang life. On his own, he reworked George Clinton's elastic funk into the self-styled G-funk, a slow-rolling variation that relied more on sound than content. When he left N.W.A. in 1992, he founded Death Row Records with Suge Knight, and the label quickly became the dominant force in mid-'90s hip-hop thanks to his debut, The Chronic. Soon, most rap records imitated its sound, and his productions for Snoop Doggy Dogg and Blackstreet were massive hits. For nearly four years, G-funk dominated hip-hop, and Dre had enough sense to abandon it and Death Row just before the whole empire collapsed in late 1996. Dre retaliated by forming a new company, Aftermath, and while it was initially slow getting started, his bold moves forward earned critical respect. Dre (born Andre Young, February 18, 1965) became involved in hip-hop during the early '80s, performing at house parties and clubs with the World Class Wreckin' Cru around South Central Los Angeles and making a handful of recordings along the way. In 1986, he met Ice Cube, and the two rappers began writing songs for Ruthless Records, a label started by former drug pusher Eazy-E. Eazy tried to give one of the duo's songs, "Boyz-n-the Hood," to HBO, a group signed to Ruthless. When the group refused, Eazy formed N.W.A. -- an acronym for Niggaz With Attitude -- with Dre and Cube, releasing their first album in 1987.
Dre released his first solo single, "Deep Cover," in the spring of 1992. Not only was the record the debut of his elastic G-funk sound, it also was the beginning of his collaboration with rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg. Dre discovered Snoop through his stepbrother Warren G, and he immediately began working with the rapper -- Snoop was on Dre's 1992 debut, The Chronic, as much as Dre himself. Thanks to the singles "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang," "Dre Day," and "Let Me Ride," The Chronic was a multi-platinum and the entire world of hip-hop changed with it. Not only did he produce Snoop's 1993 debut, Doggystyle, but he orchestrated several soundtracks, including Above the Rim and Murder Was the Case (both 1994). The Death Row dynasty held strong until the spring of 1996, when Dre grew frustrated with Knight's strong-arm techniques. At the time, Death Row was devoting itself to 2Pac's label debut, All Eyez on Me (which featured Dre on the breakthrough hit, "California Love"), and Snoop was busy recovering from his draining murder trial. Dre left the label in the summer of 1996 to form Aftermath, declaring gangsta rap dead. Dre's first album for Aftermath, the various-artists collection Dr. Dre Presents...The Aftermath received considerable media attention, but the record didn't become a hit, despite the presence of his hit single, "Been There Done That." Even though the album wasn't a success, the implosion of Death Row in 1997 proved that Dre's inclinations were correct at the time. Both 2001 and its companion instrumental version followed in 1999

                                                                    LIL BOW WOW

At only age 13, Bow Wow made his rap debut on Beware of Dog (2000), a double-platinum Top Ten hit, and though he struggled to rival such breakout success in the years that followed, he persevered impressively, maturing as an artist (as well as a man) and releasing a series of albums that met varying degrees of commercial success. In addition to his music career, Bow Wow also found regular work in Hollywood, beginning with Like Mike (2002), a star vehicle for which he recorded a soundtrack. Successive film appearances included Johnson Family Vacation (2004), Roll Bounce (2005), and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). Born Shad Gregory Moss on March 9, 1987, in Columbus, OH, Bow Wow began his rap career as Lil Bow Wow, a moniker acquired during his brief relationship with Death Row Records, then the home of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. A subsequent relationship with Jermaine Dupri and his So So Def label proved more fruitful for Bow Wow. Under the guidance of Dupri -- who had previously guided other kid rappers, namely Kris Kross and Da Brat, to mainstream success -- and songwriter/producer Bryan-Michael Cox, the young rapper was primed for success. Bow Wow's debut single, "Bounce with Me," was released in summer 2000 and appeared on the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy film Big Momma's House. The song featured the So So Def female R&B group Xscape and became a Top 20 hit in both the U.S. and U.K., charting number one on the stateside R&B and rap singles charts. Meanwhile, Bow Wow's debut album, Beware of Dog, also became a major hit, selling over two and a half million copies; its commercial success was partly due to the popular follow-up single "Bow Wow (That's My Name)," featuring Snoop Dogg, and a pair of subsequent minor hits, "Puppy Love" and "Ghetto Girls." Bow Wow's second album, Doggy Bag (2002), was another major success; it peaked at number six on Billboard's album chart, eventually going platinum, and it featured two strong singles, "Thank You" (which prominently samples the Cars' 1981 hit "I'm Not the One") and "Take Ya Home" (produced by the Neptunes during their prime). Bow Wow broke off his relationship with Jermaine Dupri for his third album, Unleashed (2003). Released by Columbia, the album was a commercial disappointment, peaking at number three on the album chart yet selling less than a million copies in the long run. A couple well-charting singles did result, though -- "Let's Get Down," featuring Birdman, and "My Baby," featuring Jagged Edge -- and the album did boast some first-rate production work, including more beats by the Neptunes. Dupri resumed his executive production role for Bow Wow's next album, Wanted (2005), and good fortune resulted. The album went platinum, peaking at number three, and a pair of singles -- "Let Me Hold You," featuring Omarion, and "Like You," featuring Ciara (with whom he was romantically linked for a while) -- went Top Five. The hits continued for Bow Wow in subsequent years. His fifth album, The Price of Fame (2006), included a few big ones: "Shortie Like Mine," featuring Chris Brown, "Outta My System," featuring T-Pain, and "I'm a Flirt," featuring R. Kelly. For Face Off (2007), he collaborated with one of his peers, Omarion, an R&B star and friend with whom he toured. Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
